This might shock you, but exercise is NOT about fat loss! While you may quickly see improvements through excess volume and duration it is almost never sustainable and often comes at the expense of your joint health, which is REQUIRED to tolerate all those “fun” calorie burning exercises you like to think is getting you lean. No amount of crunches will burn belly fat, no amount of tricep kickbacks will take away those dreaded batwings, and no amount of adduction exercises will shrink those inner thighs. Despite overwhelming evidence that spot reduction is impossible it remains one of the biggest myths of fitness. Certainly exercise helps build and develop muscle, but without adequate nutrition, sleep, and stress reduction that sculpted physique underneath will remain hidden by those stubborn problem areas.
