"I Hate Exercise"
Some reality shows and training styles have given us the perception that you must suffer in order to get results. Yes you must challenge your body, but that doesn’t mean annihilating it to the point of nausea and ridiculous muscle soreness that lasts nearly a week. When there is a perceived relationship between pain and an activity the mind will develop a hatred towards that activity and avoid it. Exercise should be progressed in the smallest most reasonable steps leaving you feeling stimulated, motivated, and ready to do it again. This allows for more consistency in the gym, reduces risk of injury, and creates a positive mental attitude towards exercise. This is the true recipe for long-term success.
