We all have an obsession with novelty, but that also leads to diminished accuracy and confusion with nutrition. We don't need to reinvent the wheel each time with a new fad. We've known for a long time that a diet rich in fruits and vegetables is a good thing and that a diet that includes a lot of fast food, pastries, and sweets is not. You don't need a research study to parse this out. It's common sense.
Nutrition doesn't have to be overly complicated. The challenge is largely psychological. Your culture, your surroundings, your daily schedule will always be your biggest barriers. That's what you need to focus on and it's highly individualized so stop looking for the smoking gun answer.
